Progress as Tradition
In 1836 in Bad Dürkheimer Jägerthal, Johann Baptist Leopold Cordier acquired a former saw mill, which ten years earlier had been converted into a paper mill.
For four generations the group was under the ownership of the Cordier family, lastly as part of the Robert Cordier Ltd. Group.
From 1998 on, Cordier Spezialpapier GmbH has clustered the activities of the Cordier, Schleipen and Illig’sche paper mills with their longstanding experience and know-how in producing grafic and technical paper at the locations in Bad Dürkheim and Mühltal.
In June 2006, all three Cordier Spezialpapier GmbH sites were taken over by a consortium of investors from the USA and Germany.
In April 2013 the shareholders of specTra Industriekapital GmbH in Munich took over all shares of Cordier Spezialpapier GmbH (who held 5% of the shares beforehand). Mr Nikolaus Benecke and Mr Peter von Sigriz have known the company since 2006 and today engage themselves also in the operational business.
